When I stumbled I tell God I’m sorry!

And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times. And he broke down and wept. Mark 14:71 ESV

After walking closely with the Lord Jesus for over three years, Peter had denied that he even knew Jesus three times in one night. Earlier that evening, Jesus had even told Peter this would happen, but Peter would not hear it. As he lied, Jesus looked right at him (Luke 22:61) and Peter went out and wept bitterly.

Looking back over the mistakes in his life, Peter probably regretted this moment above them all. He was one of the closest companions of Jesus and part of the inner circle. Now he had denied that he even knew Jesus three times. But his story does not end there. Peter got up, and followed the Lord again and his greatest days happened after this incident. He could not change the past, but he would make the best of his future.

Everyone falls, but not everyone gets back up. The Lord knew what Peter was going to do. He told him this before it happened. Jesus loved him anyway. The Lord knows our weaknesses and our frailties. He knows that we will fail sometimes. It is important that you get back up. Though the righteous may fall seven times, they rise again (Prov 24:16).

When you stumble, tell God you are sorry and try it again. Do not give up. Do not throw in the towel. We all fall down. Be the one who gets up and fulfill the Lords plan for your life. Do it now. No one can change the past, and fortunately His plan for you is not behind you, it is ahead of you. Stop looking behind you at the things that you cannot change and make the best of what is left, like Peter did.

Prayer: Lord please show me all that you have for me. Help me become the one that you want me to be. Draw my focus away from my past, and toward you, in the name of Jesus….I Pray.

Things I Must Remember During Very Difficult Times

1.      It is not God who willed sin and pain into this world.  If He ever allowed evil, it is to be able to accomplish a greater good.  Heroism, perseverance, courage, compassion, mercy, faith – these are the things that shine brighter in the darkness, such is the greater good that arises out of evil and pain.  That greater good is what I must focus on.  If God ever allows pain and misfortune or any kind of injustice to touch me, it is not with malice that He does so, nor with indifference.  He is very much aware of my suffering.  The kind of love that will not forget me even if a mother should forget her child is that same love that has willed a greater good for me to last for eternity.

Because God made not death;
Neither delights he when the living perish:
For he created all things that they might have being:
And the generative powers of the world are healthsome,
And there is no poison of destruction in them:
Nor has Hades royal dominion upon earth,
For righteousness is immortal…
But by the envy of the devil death entered into the world,
And they that are of his portion make trial thereof.
– Wisdom 1:13-15;2:24, WEB

2.     The most important thing that God desires for me as a result of His love is to save my soul.  This may or may not include providing me with material wealth.  This may even include a lot of sorrow.  But whatever His plans may be, it is to keep me from falling into sin.  God loves me, and is not waiting for me to fall but to rise again.  His goal is not to inflict me with pain but to heal me and give me life. I may not be aware of it, but He is there supporting me, defending me from evil and accomplishing my healing.  He will never allow me to be tested beyond the capacity He gave me to bear it.  And should I ever feel all is lost and hopeless, God will provide a way out still to save me.

No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.– 1 Cor. 10:13, WEB

3.     God blesses us all and provides for our needs differently.  To some He gives material blessings, to others, spiritual strength.  When we need some form of support, God sometimes sends us people who would be channels of His grace.  Sometimes, it is God Himself who directly gives it to us.  During such times, should I ever think I have received less?  Or do I praise God for giving me Himself and personally taking care of me?

Yahweh is my shepherd:
I shall lack nothing.
– Psalm 23, WEB

4.     God loves me even in my imperfections, even when I’m weak in the midst of trials.  His love for me is beyond all my mistakes for He has loved me even before I tried to be good, and even after I tried to be good and failed.

Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.  – 2 Cor. 12:10, WEB

5.     There comes a time when I must take a leap of faith when I can’t understand with my mind everything that is happening, especially all the unfairness and cruelties in this world.  If I truly believe there is a God (which I should have previously processed with my intellect, heart and spirit), then I must hold on to that belief.

The righteous call to the Lord, and he listens;
he rescues them from all their troubles.
The Lord is near to those who are discouraged;
he saves those who have lost all hope.
-Psalm 34:17-18, GNT

6.     Everyone’s got a wound, a hurt and a deprivation of some sort, but I can’t continue to live life by always clinging to that hurt that holds me back.  I’ve got to accept things as they are and just do the things that are still within my power to change.

7.     God often closes the wrong doors for us so that we me enter the right one.  Hence, rejections and opportunities that have seemingly been blocked may indeed be blessings in disguise that I should be thankful for.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go.
I will counsel you with my eye on you.
– Psalm 32:8, WEB

8.     I should remember to detach myself from the outcome of my labors.  We plant the seeds, but it is God who blesses the harvest.

9.     In times when I really feel tired, I must rest.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10, WEB

10.                        The greatest sufferings on earth could never match the joys God has prepared for us in heaven.  Even if we be deprived of all the good things people see in this world, we can still be happy, we can still hope for an ending that far surpasses all our greatest imaginings and desires.

But as it is written,
“Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear,
which didn’t enter into the heart of man,
these God has prepared for those who love him.”
– 1 Cor. 2:9, WEB

Be Strong and courageous!

Joshua 1 : 9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

“Courage is resistance to fear, and the mastery of fear…not the absence of fear. ”

image

No one is immune to fear. We will all experience differing levels of fear sometime in our lives. When fear presents itself, we either react fearfully or with determination to conquer it. Conquer that which scares you; falling from high places, drowning in water or crowded places are but a few fears that debilitate people. Inch toward your fears with determination to conquer and build the courage that overcomes!

God Bless you richly!

Prayers are approved by GOD!

Such prayer is right, and approved by God our Saviour, whose will it is that all men should find salvation and come to know the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4, NEB

Lord our God, give us your Spirit, we pray, that we may learn to understand what we are and what tasks you have set for us. We thank you for all the light you give us. Grant that we and many others may come closer to knowledge of the truth and be at peace about all that belongs in your hands, our Father in heaven. Keep us now and forevermore in your almighty hand. May we know your goodness and the blessing it brings. For through your goodness we can endure even the hardest days and be victorious in the battle of life, in the name of Jesús Christ ,Amen.
God Bless you!

The Secret!

“The secret of encouragement is hope.”

We all like to share a good secret. Every time we choose kindness, gentleness, patience, love, and self control we are sharing a secret. Through these behaviors we can lift others up with bits of encouragement or in some cases with a mountain of encouragement. Often we are unaware of the hardships others are facing around us. It could be illness, separation, abuse, loneliness, financial loss or homelessness.

We may never know how much the secret of encouragement means to the receiver. Lift someone up today; keep sharing the secret. How priceless to

share the secret gift of HOPE. It may be the only gift they receive today. It may be the ONLY gift they NEED.

God Bless you richly, Love
